SPS-1 (UW Solution) is a sterile, non-pyrogenic, hypothermic preservation solution designed for flushing, storage, and transportation of isolated abdominal organs.
Composition
Osmolality: 310 ± 15 mOsm/kg | Sodium: 29 mEq/L | Potassium: 125 mEq/L | pH: 7.4 @ 20°C
- Pentafraction – 50 g
- Lactone – 35.83 g
- Potassium phosphate monobasic – 3.4 g
- Magnesium sulphate heptahydrate – 1.23 g
- Raffinose pentahydrate – 17.83 g
- Adenosine – 1.34 g
- Allopurinol – 0.136 g
- Glutathione – 0.922 g
- Potassium hydroxide – 5.61 g
- Sodium hydroxide / HCl – adjust pH 7.4
- Sterile water – up to 1000 ml
Indications & Clinical Use
SPS-1 should be cooled to 2–6°C prior to use. It is flushed into the isolated organ before or after organ retrieval and remains within the vasculature during hypothermic storage and transportation.
⚠ Intended for cold storage only. Not suitable for continuous machine perfusion.

Storage & Shelf Life
